Margaret Tucker Hostel provides supported crisis accommodation services and support to young Aboriginal women and children aged 15-18 years who are experiencing homlessness or at risk of homelessness.

The hostel was named after Aunty Margaret Tucker MBE who was a survivor of the Stolen Generation and respected leader and activist for Aboriginal rights.

 

 

 

 

The hostel provides a culturally holistic approach to working with young women and children.

We provide:

  • A culturally safe environment

  • Accommodation and Meals

  • Case Management

  • Referrals to housing, health, legal, education, employment and training

  • Promotion of self-care and wellbeing

  • Practical assistance with living skills and personal development

  • Art and craft activities

  • Follow up support after leaving the hostel
